A American Athletic Conference (ordinarily known as a WAC, pronounced "whack") was formed around 1962, getting it the title sixth oldest of the Eleven College Athletic Conferences currently attached by owning a NCAA’s Division We-The. the WAC covers a wide expanse of the american United States, with member institutions located in California, Hawaii, Idaho, Louisiana, Nevada, Oklahoma, and Texas.

Charter members involved Arizona, Arizona State, Brigham Young, Just released Mexico, Utah, & Wyoming.

Sports
A WAC sponsors intercollegiate competition within men’s baseball, men’s and women’s basketball, men’s and women’s cross country, men’s football, men’s and women’s golf, women’s soccer, women’s softball, women’s swimming and diving, men’s and women’s tennis, men’s & women’s indoor and outdoor track and field, women’s volleyball and women's gymnastics.
